DES’s New English School Tilak Road

DES has established many schools in various towns and cities in the state of Maharashtra. The Society also manages the schools of some PSU companies. Starting with New English School in 1880 the number of schools has multiplied, with the latest addition being DES English Medium School at Shirur near Pune. The Society now runs schools at all levels such as Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary. DES encourages the schools to conduct extra-curricular activities. The schools conduct various cultural and social activities all year round helping the students to learn to work in diverse groups. The schools have classes in music and this activity supported by the Society by ensuring availability of musical instruments and expert guidance. All our schools are consistently excelling in academics and the academic rigour in ensured by periodic ‘academic audits’ conducted by DES. The Society conducts teachers training programmes for its teachers at regular intervals. All the schools have active Parents-Teachers Associations which help our school administrations in more than one way.
